Dieng is known as the ‘city of a thousand temples’ because there are 10 Hindu temples from the 7th century.
But in reality, when I painted directly there, there were far more mosques than temples. There are thousands of mosques in the Dieng area.
According to the records of the Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI), in Wonosobo, the district that covers the Dieng area, there are 1,591 mosques and 1,687 prayer rooms.
