This painting is a type of illusion or deception, more precisely, it is an ambiguous figure.
The three boards on the table platform can be perceived as lined up horizontally, as can also be seen as stacked vertically.
If the tree trunk that is in contact with the table is closed, the boards will appear lined up.
On the other hand, if the right and left sides of the tree are closed, the boards will look stacked.
The world is just an illusion. This is mentioned in the Koran, Ali Imran’s letter, verse 185, “Whereas the life of this world is nothing more than the delusion of enjoyment.”
